October 8th Updates
Important Announcement: Please note that our times have changed slightly for Wednesday rehearsals. Practice for Sunday anthems will be 6:15-6:45 PM; Christmas music rehearsal will be 6:45-7:45 PM; Ensemble rehearsal will be 7:45-8 PM.
In case you’ve been away recently, reminder that your new section leaders are Gail Shanks, sopranos, Tom Ginn, tenors and Tom Blackwood, basses. Please reach out to them if you have any requests, concerns or needs.
We have two birthdays this month. Chris Scott’s is October 12th, Mary Leverett’s is October 24th.
1) Sunday, October 12th the choir will sing “Oh My Soul” at the 10:20 service.
2) October 13th, Monday Sectional Rehearsal at 6:15 will be for Altos and Basses
3) Remaining Mondays, October 20-November 10 all those participating in Christmas programs will meet from 6:15-7:15.
4) October 19th, the mixed ensemble will sing “Nearer to Jesus” at both the 8:15 and 10:20 services
5) November 9th is Connection Sunday. The Chancel Choir will have a table in the Atrium. Please check with Ann to sign up for times to meet, greet and encourage potential singers to join us.
6) December 10th - Dress rehearsal for Christmas “Lessons in Carols”
7) December 11th and 12th - “Lessons in Carols”. Please put these dates on your calendars and let your friends know.
Reminder: Brian has set up a special access code for us to enter the building during off hours when we have special events, practices, Evensong, etc. The door closest to the offices on the West side has a keypad. Our new code is 1119*. NOTE: this special codes only works on Sunday mornings and for special choir events. Please don’t share with anyone beyond choir members.

Bonnie is having hernia surgery today, October 9th. Please pray for success of the procedure and full recovery.
Please pray for the Rankin family and Bonnie as they mourn Michael’s passing. Frances had a recent fall and broke her ribs. Pray that she finds relief soon and full healing.
Gail and her husband Bill need our continued prayers following his recent knee surgery. Pray specifically that his appetite will return to help him regain his strength. Also pray that Gail will find strength and patience as Bill’s caregiver as they navigate this journey to healing together.
Please pray that we find someone that is a great fit to become our accompanist and allow John to focus on directing and playing the organ for services. If you know of anyone who might be interested, please let John know.
Shirley is doing very well after her shoulder surgery in Dallas. She will be returning to AR this weekend ahead of the original schedule; because she is a MIGHTY woman! Please continue to pray for her full recovery.
Nancy Lewis has pneumonia. Please pray for healing and that she can return to us soon.
Jame’s nephew, Adam has been diagnosed with cancer and needs prayers.
JR requests prayers for his brother Frank, who is experiencing multiple health challenges.
Remember to pray for Angel this weekend as she participates in the “Walk to Emmaus” program in her continuing efforts to learn and grow in her faith and service. We are grateful for all she does for our congregation.
John’s Botox injections have been postponed, again. Please pray that the procedure can be scheduled soon and be covered by insurance.
Kathy Pierce requested prayers for their friend’s grandson, Will, who is in treatment for his brain tumor.
Tom Ginn will be having Hip replacement surgery in January. Please pray for relief from his pain in the meantime
Please pray for Ritchie and her family. Her brother Bud and his family especially need our prayers for strength and comfort as he continues to battle cancer.
James has requested prayers that his children, John and Misha will find suitable jobs. His wife, Cindy’s knee surgery is in two weeks.
